Athletic Director Matty Bell and Basketball Coach E. O. (Doc) Hayes in front of Joe Perkins Gym after Doc had been named basketball coach at SMU in 1947.

Lois and Joe Perkins also gave money to build the Perkins Administration Building and the Perkins School of Theology. In the first game played in Perkins Gym SMU defeated North Texas State 36-35. Next up will be the story of the construction of the SMU Coliseum.
