No joke, what happened to Padron?
I havent seen this kid on the sidelines or anything. I know he has been injured, but was it season ending? Maybe he is trying to pull for a medical red shirt?

I believe that is exactly what they hope

I currently have 3 herniated discs in my back and when I stand for any length of time I get a lot of numbness in my legs. I have heard they do not want him standing on the sideline during the game because of his back issue.
The key I would guess is to determine if he needs surgery. If so, I hope they decide soon. It will take a long recovery regardless of the treatment route.

Off topic, and maybe dumb on my part but, if Padron hurt his back during weight training is their a possible liability problem for the university. And, does SMU pay for a policy or is it the player's responsibility to secure a policy for long term disability that could be connected to participating in varsity athletics.

I don't know about long term, but he would be covered by the university's policy currently. Not sure if there is any waiver of liability once the student matriculates.
Re: No joke, what happened to Padron?
SMU can only hope he sticks around... He was never given the chance this year to shine and show us what he was brought on to do. Wishing him a speedy recovery and I believe Padron is destined to do great things.
