If the NCAA comes out and forces a multiyear post-season ban, couldn't this be their way of going ahead and knocking a year off? If so, its smart on their part, as they already know this year isn't too special of a season for them. Go ahead and skip the crappy bowl on the front end so they dont have to sit out on the possibility of a much better bowl down the road.

It would also be hilarious if the NCAA said "good for you, we're still banning you for __ years of bowls".

yeah, they're debating on the miami boards on whether to go to the beef o'grady bowl or the citrus bowl, so this is just fine too.
