Could someone from ponyfans.com with a little know-how, a little time, and a charitable heart please set up a message board for those Teachers College freaks? They seem to have "issues" that would best be resolved amongst themselves.

Uh, the ULaLa game was a Friday night nationally televised game and the December 14'th NEW ORLEANS BOWL will be on "The" ESPN, kick-off at 6:30 PM (CST).

Televising any game in DFW is doing so in a population center, ie, the North Texas Metroplex which is larger population-wise than that of 28 states in the USA (according to NTCOG stats). Friends/alums in south Texas and some in California have told me they were also able to get the DFW Channel 52 feed of local Mean Green football games.

So ex Longview Lobo ex, just what DFW TV station last televised an SMU football game? HINT: Did viewers also need rabbit ears for that televised game or had they been invented yet?:)

And for BoogerMaster, www.GoMeanGreen.com.....

Just as I thought. There is no good reason you can articulate why you think UNT cannot get into a better conference on its own merits and without the intervention of SMU's president, you've just lost all faith and loyalty to your alma mater. Sad.

You think if we added 1 Death Penalty, 1 winnning season in 18 (?) years and "lying about our attendance regularly" on that resume' then we would have gotten the attention of CUSA?

CUSA was not TCU's panacea and it would not be UNT's long-term, either; but it may just be SMU's, especially when Memphis leaves and La Tech takes their place! LOL!

No just keep telling us about all the famous alums that you have to "impress" us. Like Bill Clinton's illigitimate second cousin three times removed which will certainly qualify you for CUSA membership. You blew off the opportunity to go to the WAC. So you made your bed, don't complain about it. As to CUSA you know it came down to you, La. Tech and UTEP. UTEP -average attendance 40,000. UNT average attendance 15,000. UTEP - host Sun Bowl. UNT gets to go to New Orleans Bowl with a losing record. UTEP - upgraded program trip to the NCAA basketball dance. UNT - lousy basketball team. Too bad, you lose. G'bye. Now rake those leaves.

Jamario Thomas must be out-of-town and MGG doesn't have anyone to "play" with. :(

Well then what was with the approximately 10,000 conspiracy theory posts you submitted crying that UNT got blackballed from CUSA and Gerald Turner likes La Tech more than he likes UNT? Sounds like you got what you wanted, so shut the hell up already.

Or is it, as you have never denied, that you really do believe UNT cannot make its own way on the land of college sports without the help of SMU? That's not a healthy attitude for a so-called "loyal" alum, is it?

jstang, are you taking your prozac? You say, uh, "so shut the hell up already?" Are we getting a bit testy on the Hilltop?!?:)

And as far as CUSA? We are talking about old news as far as we are concerned. That all took place 1 year ago and things (and attitudes) can change dramatically in 1 year.

TCU is our local model these days and if they think it an advantage and OK to not be in the same league with SMU--how do you think we could possibly feel? You know, jstang, the old Mustang just ain't what she used to be.

Yet it seems to me UNT is doing quite well without any help from anyone from SMU; but FWIW, this thread began about a very ugly, local political move on the part of a hardy handul of SMU Forum members who (only) left the NCAA's leading all purpose rusher off the Doak Walker Awards list.

Do you think that group would have done the same had Super Jamario been wearing SMU's red and blue?:( How do you think everyone in the almighty state of Texas (except in University Park) would answer that?

When UNT finishes in due time a new 35-40,000 seat football stadium at the 200 acre Eagle Point land across the interstate from Fouts Field, SMU will only be a foggy memory, albeit an unpleasant one.

You all are reaping what you have sewn thru the years, so just lay back and enjoy more of the inevitable.

Yes, disloyal, UNT-ability-doubting, alum, your first post in this thread also contained your 10,000th reference to Turner not helping UNT get into CUSA, so I'll ask again. Why have you lost faith in UNT's ability to get in a better conference without SMU's help? And why do you keep bringing it up if its old news and you're over it?

Everyone still considers that rat hole in Denton a commuters college. Not to mention the white trash students that attend that place. They have won 23 conference games in a row, and are going to their fifth New Orleans Bowl, and still average less than 15,000! PEOPLE IN TEXAS AND ALL THE WORLD DON'T CARE ABOUT north texas state!!!!!!

Denton? Rat hole? You been to Denton lately (or just passed thru on the interstate)? You might get the surprise of your life.

WHO CARES? ESPN seems to care about us as they get better ratings for our games than anyone from SMU woud care to ever know about, least of all admit to. No smack board chatter with that--but fact.

We average over 15,000 "real" (you hear me now Stangs) REAL butts in seats--not imanginary ones. We draw well against the same schools you draw well against, and draw a bit over the NCAA minimums against schools that SMU (according to one of your own) might even draw a crowd of 3,000 for (as in your last home game)? Detect a difference between what our 2 schools do at the turnstiles?

Right at 32,000 present students (43,000 projected next decade) care about UNT since they have invested their tuition and time there; and a very large reservoir of North Texas Exes (100K+) here in D-FW sorta' like the school as well since that is where we have our degrees and post grad degrees. You think many of that group helps ESPN get the Nielsen ratings that they are more than satisfied with when the Mean Green (catchy name, eh) tee it up?

Looking forward to the day in a new stadium when we are pissed that we have less than 32,000 in attendance--that day will be sooner than you all may want.

GMG!
