Re: Let's stay home. No go Bowl bid
After a quarter century of exile from the football post season, I will gladly support the Mustangs in any bowl they go to. If possible, I will attend (Hawaii is out).
I didn’t stay home during the Wilderness years and I will certainly not stay home during the reemergence of SMU football. Others can make their decisions based on their wants, needs and desires. Just for me, I will support a successful SMU team in the post season.
Are we where I would like, not yet. But we are light years ahead of where we have been.

Let me put it this way. Do you think TCU would be satisfied with a 6-6 record? Losing the last 6 out of 7 game, often to inferior teams. Not having any offense whatsoever.

My apologies, I was under the impression this was a thread about SMU in the post season. I didn't read all the post and thus missed that this was actually a TCU thread.
I can't speak for TCU's desires as I really don't follow TCU.

That's because we lost to Army in our own stadium.

The team deserves better than McDamnit for this bowl game. The bowl games are rewards for the team, and clearly he has not contributed to a positive season's performance. Yes, TCU win was awesome, and will always be appreciative of his leading us to that victory, but Jones owes nothing to McD in the bowl game. Please start Padron!!
Beat the hell out of anybody!

I'm sure its just a sarcastic thread voicing his frustrations.....sometimes the posts take things so literally. You go to whatever Bowl that is announced. If its Dallas, so be it.

he's HURT! season ending back injury in case you've had your head buried in the sand for the last month. probably going to have surgery, but you want to toss him in risking further injury.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Staying home is not a valid choice.

Easy Dutch, you're blasting someone that started an account on Oct 2, and has 35 posts. Not everyone streams PF post updates like stock symbols.
they should.

Any bowl > No bowl. No question. No debate.
I agree with the comment about flirting with the top 25 and how that raised our expectations.
As disappointed as I am with losing 4 of the last 5, it sure the [Corso] beats the 1-11 or 0-fer years we've experienced. Am I satisfied with this season? No. Is the record about what I thought it would be this year? Yes.

I fully support our team too, but given the way we have played lately, I am picking Rice.

I heard he might play the Rice game, since it wont be as aggressive. Otherwise as other people have said, play the freshman Qbs. We have nothing to lose by doing so, and if we do that at least people outside of SMU will say oh its a young team that makes sense. McDermott doesnt deserve a bowl game. The only applause he deserves is for being TCU thats it. Even then it was the team that beat TCU not McDermott.
For those saying come out and support, like I said, dont be frustrated with crowd attendance as it might hit its lowest numbers this year. All the students thought the navy game was the last home game and blvd. Even the Daily campus wrote an article saying blvd is done for the year. Hopefully enough alumni will be out, but it wont be pretty for the seniors last game. Unfortunately for our school, there are alot of out-of-state students especially in Cali.
