Re: BYU
At least this will finally put an end to this mess. We are where we belong and where we should be. Win consistently in CUSA and then lets act like we belong. The big question is will Houston stick around? A CUSA w/o Houston isn't very appealing and we fall even further out of the BCS discussion in the state of Texas.

Re: BYU
AFA Superintendent Gould is also slowing the process. I say revoke the AFA invitation.

Re: BYU
It doesn't kill the deal, but I think it makes it SUBSTANTIALLY less appealing and much less of a story on a national level.

Your opinion does not matter to NBC execs

Maybe so, but in my opinion, it is a better league even without the AQ label.

You can be a realist without spewing negativity about everything. It's fine to accept your lot in life without as much drama as you interject.

Re: BYU
I can appreciate that smupony94. However, this development (if true of course) makes the Big East deal a much different deal. Whenever there are this many schools involved and this many opposing interests there are bound to be pitfalls and problems. However, this Big East expansion has been an absolute mess in every way. I feel for SMU, Houston, and UCF who have been ready and willing from day one but the Big East in wanting to make a splash has kept them on house arrest from letting their fans or the public know their fate. In doing so, they may have screwed the pooch on the whole deal. If that happens the Big East will implode and they have only themselves to blame for it.

Re: BYU
BYU brought money for the tv contract, not any points toward BCS status. If what is being reported is true, then they don't bring any money to the tv contract, so what is the point of inviting them?
Bring in SDSU instead. Get a new decent sized tv market--one that probably includes LA to a certain extent--in a good recruiting area that provides a great road trip for fans. Less money than BYU, but not a bad substitute.

Re: BYU
Everyone was excited about this deal before BYU ever got involved.
If they are out again, we are just back to being excited about this still.
