Re: Monday Luncheon?
I'm sure June just said "we do what we do" in trying to explain throwing a 35 yard bomb on 3rd and 2.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Monday Luncheon?
Actually, he said he had been reading pony fans and appreciated all of SMTs wisdom and was going to completely redefine his offensive strategy despite his experience in the NCAA and NFL. He felt he had wasted his life up until this weekend.

I didn't go but can sum it up.
Mexican Buffet..
Gardner saying something strange
"We had our chances if you look at the film"
"Our defense played well enough to win"
"We had guys wide [deleted] open"
"This team hasn't been to 3 bowl games in a long time"
"Rice is a good team, we'll have to play very well to win."
and possibly "we aren't going to Hawaii"...

I did go, and it was (as always) very enlightening. Those who don't go are missing out.
Yes, Coach J's friend who MC's the thing is a little goofy, but the fans asked legit questions and Coach J was pretty straightforward in his answers. He handed out praise where it was deserved, and was very blunt when he pointed out when things were not done correctly. Had some enlightening ideas to share about a number of topics.
The food wasn't fabulous -- salad, cut corn, BBQ chicken and some kind of strange, sliced BBQ beef -- but hearing Coach J speak (or his assistants, when he's not there) is pretty enlightening, and the film sessions are fascinating (like when he explains when a sack is the offensive line's fault or the quarterback's fault for not sliding in the pocket, or when he points out reads for players on both sides of the ball, etc.)
I just started going a little over a month ago when my work schedule became a little more flexible, and I won't miss another. Give it a shot -- they're well worth it. One thing I really like is that after a win, he finds a lot of things that could be improved, and after a loss, he found a lot of things that were done well. He's better than I am at keeping an even keel.

Hoofprint, nice fluff piece. So what really happened? Did June show up? Did he explain why McTerrible is still the starting QB? Did anyone point out that no matter how green or terrible Kaiser may or may not be he is probably 1000% better than McD? Just curious...

Re: Monday Luncheon?
I dont think normal people can go unless you are stay at home parent or a freaking sweet owner/ceo.... I wish I could go because I would be like why dont you try someone else for QB. I mean I understand the O-Line might be at fault. but a good QB can adapt.... also the O-line wouldnt give up if they knew the work they put in wasnt for waste. I mean I would be pretty sick and tired of defending a guy who cant throw.
Re: Monday Luncheon?
Yes, June showed up and spoke and answered everyone's questions, several of which addressed the quarterbacks. Yes, he talked about why J.J. McDermott is starting. For what it's worth, saying McD "can't throw" is silly." They showed a lot of plays on which McDermott made excellent throws (the throw to Beasley over double coverage on the right sideline near the end zone was really impressive. He wasn't as consistent as we wanted, of course, but the assertion that he can't throw is patently inaccurate.
It's sort of like Tony Romo (I know ... not the same, but follow the comparison here). After the Dallas games against the Jets and Lions, Romo was a bum who a lot of fans wanted to run out of town. After shredding the Bills last week and escaping the Redskins Sunday, Romo's a star all over again. It's part of having a quarterback (whose name isn't Brady or Rodgers or Manning or Brees, anyway). They have good days and bad days. When teams struggle, the quarterbacks are bums. When things go well, they're saviors.

I would love to see 11 show up and actually have the balls to ask those questions. Just go at 12:30 for 20 minutes. You don't have to be a "sweet" suite owner. Those questions have been asked. expect a Jones response. Actually, those keep me believing.

He's a grad student at Cox and has said as such several times on here. He could find a way to cross i75 for lunch. He'd rather tell everyone else on here what questions to ask.
