Aggy will always play second fiddle to The University of Texas. They're the only school that's not even proud enough to use their entire university name because they're so envious of the Longhorns. There is only 1 University of Texas.. but Aggy continuously calls themselves, Texas Aggies and not Texas A&M Aggies. Guess that means that Florida has the Florida Gators, Flordia Seminoles and Georgia has the Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Yellowjackets.

Calling themselves "Texas aggies". No such thing. The University of Texas should make them pay a royalty every time they use their name.

Don't get me started on the so-called traditions down there. How bored do you have to be to start the dumb crap they do. Oh yeah.. they do live in college station.. so playing army and swaying back and forth singing about how much they wish they were as good as Texas is some great time killers during 4 years of trying to get out of that armpit.

Aggy logic = let's have male "milkman" cheerleaders instead of females. Another great aggy tradition..

Ridiculous..
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

At one time, ALL schools had 'milkman' cheerleaders. SMU included. (Check 'The Rotunda' yearbooks, pre-1950). Except they weren't called 'cheerleaders'...they were called 'yell leaders' and Texas A$M still does. As much as I don't care for the Aggie$, I have to admit that I would LOVE for SMU to have 'yell leaders' who could get its fans yelling and screaming for the Mustangs. 'Yell leaders' fell out of favor in the mid-fifties thanks to an SMU alum and former SMU 'yell leader' named Lawrence Herkimer who saw an opportunity to make megabucks with a company he founded called Cheerleader Supply, Inc. in Dallas. "Herkie" changed the face and composition of how the sidelines look...some folks say for the better, some say not.

Did SMU's get one one knee and grab and squeeze their own nuts in a show of "spirit" for SMU? Boy, now that's tradition.

This brings up one of the great questions of life. What is a female Aggie (a Maggie) supposed to squeeze? Or do all female Aggies have non-standard equipment. Any thoughts?

I wished we had listened to those old coots who tried to block women from entering Texas A&M in the sixties-Maggies made Texas A&M socially acceptable and allowed Texas A&M to be a great university. Aggies would still be considered the same old goat humpin', nose pickin', goose steppin' rednecks like when I grew up. That decision so criticized by "Ole Army" alumni turned out to be the turning point for the university.

Question: who (or what) did Aggie$ kiss when they scored a TD before women were admitted into TA$MU?

I will admit that the "Junction Death March" by Bear Bryant was truly inspired thinking on his part to get the Aggie$ out of their losing funk in the early 50s. Of course, something like that would be considered 'hazing' nowadays.

At your service! Realize PK, of course, that when discussing the Aggies you are already so inherently close to the gutter it ain't much of a ride.

That may very well be true, but lordy...between this thread and the one started by MeanGreenGem, the level of discourse on the board has deteriorated considerably. Why pray tell is everyone giving MGG even the time of day much less reacting to his BS?!?!?!?!?
