I am really concerned. We haven't played a team as good as San Diego this year. If Dement were still here, we would all be calling for his head. This is an experienced junior and senior team and we have a hard time beating nobodies. This was to be Dement's year if he hadn't been fired for losing the team last year. If we stay within 30 of OSU, I will be surprised. Maybe they will play up to the competition but it is hard to look at the first 2 games and see anything encouraging. These were sorry teams.

A team as good as San Diego? The Torrero's went 3-26 against D1 teams last year, including their win over the Mustangs. They finished dead last in the WCC, and besides SMU their only other OOC win was against UC-San Diego, a D2 school. Their worst loss was 82-39 to Utah, but they also took serious whippings from teams like Winthrop, St. Mary's, Santa Clara, and Pepperdine. They finished around 300 in the RPI. I think Montana State could measure up to that.

Last year someone made a big deal over how many transfers San Diego had, as if that was an excuse, but the truth is they were a horrible team, and it was a seriously low caliber loss.

I'm a bit dissapointed by some of the mental mistakes the team still makes, I thought we would be past that by now, but its too early to push the panic button. More to follow.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.

Guys, we are two game into the season with two wins. Yeah, they were cupcakes, and we struggled at times, but the kids pulled them out. I hope for steady improvement over the season, but even if OSU blows us out at home it is no reason to panic. Look at it this way, OSU is damn good and we could show real improvement over our last two and still lose handily. My advice for OSU--look at the performance of the team, not the score. Wish I could be there with you, but I'm outta town for the weekend.

Its yet to be determined how bad M State is. They were picked last in the Big Sky though, I believe. UT Tyler? Come on guys, we are clinging to hopes. We should have expected much much more from this team. Let's hope they put it together and start playing decently. So far, the only good thing we can say is it is 3 wins. Any new coach gets a pass his first year so we won't hold him to the same responsibility level we would have Dement. I still want to see them win

Not that this tells much more about Montana St. but they lost by one point at San Jose St. last night, 56-55. Similar to the SMU game, Montana St. blew a pretty big lead late in the game....but remember they were without their leading score, Frank Brown, who was suspended (for rape) after the SMU game.

jt, the Okie St. game is not this weekend, it's Monday night.
