In my opinion, the 2 posters on this board with the most knowledge of the NFL, and its success and failure ratios both to get in and to stay in are One Trick Pony and Mestengo.

Right brain, left brain...constant battle. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Margus Hunt hasn't drawn as much attention because he hasn't blocked a kick lately, but his play on defense is vastly improved. He is reading plays more quickly, shedding blocks much better, keeping his feet when cut-blocked and keeping much better containment when quarterbacks try to roll outside. Will he be a top-10 pick? No, I don't think so, but some NFL coach will become enamored with him (some already are, I gather) and he'll get a very fair shot.

Kelvin Beachum, Josh LeRibeus, Taylor Thompson, Ja'Gared Davis and Margus Hunt all will be on NFL rosters one day.

Cole Beasley, Marquis Frazier, Zach Line, Darius Johnson, Chris Banjo and Taylor Reed are among those who have a chance, at least for tryouts/training camp. Maybe more but those are the ones that come to mind at the moment.

The freshmen aren't ready. The experienced backup suffered a serious injury. The starting experienced QB is playing hurt. So there you go. Are we supposed to have four game-ready experienced QBs ready to trot out there? I'm not aware of too many college programs that have that kind of depth.

Believe me, I'm really frustrated by the QB play since UCF. But I think the coaches are in a tight spot and I'm not ready to point the finger and say its simply their fault based on the bad luck we've had with QBs this year.

We've brought in a quality QB recruit in every class since 2009 (Kaiser, Preston, Burcham, and (hopefully) Printz). Throw former 5-star recruit Gilbert in there, and I think we're going to have some good QB options going forward. There will be good competition for the job.

This is the most level-headed post on the topic I've seen.

Agreed with supporting coaches and understanding their situation. However there will be no way in convincing me that JJ is good. He sucks, but the worst part is his heart and attitude. Just cant stand it, he acts like BA when he clearly isnt.
