SMU defensive coordinator Tom Mason visited with PonyFans.com to talk about Saturday's regular-season finale against Rice and the challenges his defense will face against the Owls, who could play as many as three quarterbacks, have an able running back in Tyler Smith and boast a 6-foot-5, 260-pound wide receiver in Vance McDonald.

Re: VIDEO: Tom Mason talks Rice
I am a Tom Mason fan. The guy is just a great defensive coach. The D has played well most of the year and when they haven't its been depth problems or a freshman mistake, which was a big problem with Navy....That said, I'm just as worried about the DL next year as the OL because of lack of depth.

Mason is as 'real' of a person as you'll run across
