Carroll-Abilene

Postby McAndless » Sun Nov 28, 2004 11:46 pm

Best high school game I've been to in some years, and a couple observations to note:
1- Mitch Enright played in front of more people in yesterday's game than he may in all four years here
2- Abilene has a junior WR, number 19, that is the real deal. Maybe not on paper or in the recruiting world as I don't follow it religiously, but thin and fluid and made wonderful adjustments on every ball thrown his way. We need to get on him immediately.
3- Late in the game after Southlake clinched it, Daniel took a knee. Humorously, a lineman for Carroll drove a kid 5 yards back and pancaked him. Much to my delight, it was Enright. Of course he got a personal foul, but as my buddy commented, it's about time SMU is getting some nasty linemen. I am a big fan of his already.
4- Enright didn't seem to be the only OL for Carroll that will play college football.
5- Rice is getting a great player in Aaron Luna, that is if he doesn't play baseball only after potentially getting drafted in the 1st round in May's draft.
I didn't stay for the other games but Texas High and Ennis both featured great athletes. Who is the QB for Texas High? Any recruiting info? Good size and arm.

Sounds like Enright and Justin Boren might be cut from the same cloth. I'd like to get a few rolls of that stuff and deck out the entire offensive line.

That #19 is Clint Renfro, the son of Mike Renfro. We are also all over him, as recruiting goes.

Renfro is a stud, but he said #19 for Abilene.
The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.

I don't know about Abilene, but Renfro's been mentioned here before. I've never seen him, but I read somewhere that he's supposed to be extremely skinny, and extremely fast and talented. Someone here made it sound like everyone's going to be after the guy. Any early reports on what schools he likes?

Wouldn't renfro be more inclined to go to TCU? I thought (just thought, could be wrong) Mike went to TCU.

And, is another 5'8: fast WR going to do that much more for us than the 10 other 5'8" WRs we have on the roster?

We need TWO 6'2"+ HS Burners, and TWO 6'2"+ JUCO Burners.
