Could Padron be a hardship waiver candidate?

A hardship waiver or medical redshirt is available for a player who loses the majority of a season to injury. It may be granted an athlete who appears in fewer than 30% of his or her team's competitions (with none coming after the midway point of the season), then suffers a season-ending injury.

As long as Padron does not play again this year, he would meet the requirement.

Or is he planning to transferring to another school?

His family has not been present in several games. They have traditionally sat in Section 102, a few rows in front of my seats. Staying away from games would also reduce the risk of being asked too many questions.

the key is whether there is medically verified evidence of a season ending injury based on the parameters set forth above-the fact that he doesn't play alone in second half of the season is not the test. I hope he gets it.

All indications are at this point that he could qualify. It depends on the medical records and of course he has to be documented as to having a season ending injury. You will not know, however, until after he has exhausted his playing time. If he plays next year, he will have played his 4 years and then you would apply for another year based on the back injury cutting this year short.

Whereas Kyle seems to be a good candidate, I am very curious about the rumor that McJunkin is going to apply for a medical hardship. He played at TCU and none since, but he is dressed at every game, standing with Klemm, active with the team on the sidelines and even confronted a Tulane player who put a hard hit on JJM. He has no apparent injury and I am curious to know what season ending injury he has if the rumor is true. I had begun to believe that he would come back next year as a grad asst under Klemm since he appears to be being tutored.

Maybe it was too hot for them. Or too cold, or too cloudy, or too sunny. All of these are acceptable excuses for us Pony faithful.

Haven't seen the Padrons at lunches, either. They were mainstays for a while.

It could be possible with the threat of Gilbert that he wants to transfer out to a 1-AA school. I dont think its too surprising though that they arent there anymore, since their son isnt playing. It would just be a hassle to them to have to update people, and it does nothing for them. Im hoping that Padron plays next year, if he does great and has redshirt play again otherwise we use gilbert. I just think with the redshirt and no sign of him that hes getting the idea to leave town since he was pulled with such little faith.

Do we really want to start next season with a QB who has never taken a college (any level) snap?

I agree, just have a suspicion that the story runs deeper than we know.

well we ar going to have to start a fresh some time might as well get it over with get the new blood all the exp they can get.Something just seems sour about KP now what with being pulled from the first quarter of the first game then some weird injury he just doesnt seem like he could lead the team any more
