Attendance by the Numbers
Hate to see a slip but knowing we did not have a major draw like Tech or TCU helps with perspective.

Re: Attendance by the Numbers
We were doing better on the year and could have come out ahead if not for the Thanksgiving weekend scheduling. That blew the average.
But much like the team, attendance started out strong and tailed off as the year went on.

It's all relative. We didn't have a home game on Tx OU weekend nor Fall break. We can't get every weekend we want. Some schools would prefer a holiday weekend game as it improves attendance. Obviously we have a different type of fan base.

Re: Attendance by the Numbers
we can justify it all we want.
anyone who has been to a lot of games at Ford knows that we have one of the worst crowd (game day environments) in CFB. I dont believe those numbers translate into butts in the seat. I dont think any of us do.
Its sad. I wish there was a way to change it. I think letting people in and out might help keep the first half heroes (the students who want to go drink) there for the second half.
I do agree that its usually better when the competition is better. No Houston, TCU, Big 12 team or Tulsa this year hurts.
I hope the turnout for the AFB is good. Im sure BYU fans will be there.

Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier

Re: Attendance by the Numbers
Being a college team in a pro town (that has a Thanksgiving NFL Time slot) probably doesn't help SMU attendance on this weekend, the last game is light on all the charts shown, except at the beginning of the comeback. SMU needs a Case Keenum (small market Heisman contender), Maybe Garrett Gilbert can be that guy for the Mustangs, he has the talent. Does he have the recievers? Although.... I seriously hope that you guys have Zack's Heisman Campaign plan in the works, I read the story on how he ended up at SMU and I KNOW we're gonna draft him (Detroit). Top 5 this year in rushing, at the time of his injury..... Get movin' guys.

This is probably the reason we'll end up in the Ticket City Bowl if Hawaii can't get bowl eligible. Go Warriors.

Gilbert doesn't have the accuracy or awareness to be a Keenum. He's just an arm. We have no marketing department, our city doesn't even know we have a team, there will be no Line Heisman campaign.

Re: Attendance by the Numbers
No Line Heisman campaign huh???? Well, there oughta be. Tell me he isn't as good as Toby Gerhardt and Toby got on the stage in New York. Gilbert, well who knows what he can be, Mack Brown is another Lloyd Carr more underachievers than overachievers. UT should be in the conversation right now with Alabama and LSU but they threw a Prize Bull away and gave him to June Jones.... This is no new thing with Mack and UT either. ALWAYS they should contend, sometimes they do. Just like my Michigan.

Re: Attendance by the Numbers
I can't remember if A&M has bought out of next year's game here. 2012 was the year we were going to have 7 home games. Playing any of our former SWC mates (who bring the fans) is great for those average attendance figures.
Renewing the series with UNT will help; those games are always pretty well attended and more often than not we can chalk up another win

Re: Attendance by the Numbers
We all knew this would be a disappointing attendance season. And there was no way a RIce game over THanksgiving was going to draw well. Next few years schedule is much more conducive to better attendance. THe real key is to continue to win. A bowl win would be huge to cap this season.
