Flip Flopping Receivers

Post by Stallion »

June Jones made an interesting adjustment. Flipped Darius and Beasley to Outside Receivers on several ocassions including Darius Johnson's long TD pass and catch. Perhaps he got that from watching Houston and Patrick Edwards take short passes and turn them into long TD runs . Also brought bigger receivers inside for blocking -bet we see that some more

good point - that DJ run was similar to what Houston does every game - 10 yards to the house.

It doesn't matter how big/small the receivers are if you don't have a QB that can get them the ball.

Anything we do to look like coog high is a good thing. Let's move our big play guys in a position to make big plays. We need to get away from throwing lateral passes and get our speedy guys downfield.

Yeah, I thought it was odd having Beasley on that deep route down the right side of the field. A taller receiver would've had that catch, I think.

That flip was made to install a new running formation - Bradley and Jeremy Johnson as the inside recievers to block and then DJ and Cole outside.

We started doing this at least a couple of weeks ago.
