2 million a year is less than what any legit coach is making right now or will just be used to get that coach a raise at his current school. The BCS conference SMU is headed to may not keep its AQ bid long term, the job isn't attractive enough to lure any legit coach away from an already legit program.

You are selling the job short...just as a lot of people did with conf. re-alignment...JJ makes more than 2mil a year, and there would be some great candidates at that price range
There are lots of good coaches who either would like to change places or are on the sidelines after getting fired. Leach, Mangino, Gill, Zook, Friedgen to name a few. Or we promote from within. I hope JJ stays, and would loath having to pull out the purple hippo to follow private planes again, but if he goes to a BCS program, then we have to adjust and move forward, not backward.

Ah the retread bin filled with guys fired for appalling behavior or general ineffectiveness.
