Recruiting to play football as a Cornhusker 10 years ago (when they were playing for a national championship) versus to play football as a Mustang are two completely different things.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Coach Fired on Way to Mom’s Funeral

It couldn’t have been a surprise when Rob Ianello received a phone call informing him that he had been fired as the head coach of Akron’s football team. In two seasons, his only wins were over VMI and Buffalo.

But the timing of his dismissal on Saturday? Well that had to come as a shock, as Ianello was on his way to his mother’s funeral, according to Pete Thamel of The New York Times.

Rita Ianello died early last Tuesday on Long Island, NY, and Rob drove home Saturday after his team was defeated on Friday by Western Michigan, 68-19.

We know the coaching carousel is ruthless but you would have expected Akron AD Tom Wistrcill to have waited until Ianello returned to Ohio before showing him the door.

New athletic director at KU who didn't hire Gill. Plus, based on how uncompetitive they were this year, I wasn't surprised.

Heck, Larry Porter at Memphis was canned after 2 years.

They at least expect more tan 2 wins. I bet if he had gotten 5 wins they would have waited.

True, I think he would do better in the DFW area since he is from here and can relate to the kids. He also already has recruiting ties to the area .
