Aren't you the guy who bashes state institutions and say they are going to lose their ability to spend? Yeah they have private donors than can help, just like we do...
JJ is paid more than 2 a year, and his assistants are paid BCS money as well...

I think that is a dangerous assumption to make. PAC schools have a ridiculous amount of money and it's sounding like June Jones may be tired of playing in an empty stadium. I hope he stays, and a part of me thinks he does. I just don’t think we can assume SMU offers something that can’t be matched…
Exactly. I've said many times that if he uses that as an excuse to leave, then that's a pretty gutless move on his part. That Diva got everything from the athletic department and then some. We just announced a $3 million renovation to the inside of Ford and a new playing surface as the season started.
It's a two-way street on that argument. Where the hell was he trying to promote the program in the offseason.
I know..he was too busy playing golf at the DCC or hibernating in Hawaii.
TCU drew nothing for years...and even this year couldn't fill that place for every game, they may announce sell outs but it isnt filled...
Im glad you have seen printz and determined he is the savior...I heard that about padron, kaiser, preston in recent years...Mccown, romo, luker, willis before you knew the program existed...
Its also very hard for a kid to be a pied piper recruit in georgia when your talent base which we have neglected since JJ got here is in a 50 mile radius...
I love printz, I think he will be great, but I dont know and neither do you...neither does JJ...
I know facts and thats all I want to hear...
JJ is not bigger than the program...this is a desirable job in a great recruiting area with excellent facillities and lifestyle...If he leaves, there are a lot of great coaches who will want this job and will work hard to make it their own...
I'm not mocking you, but if you know anything about cali pension and schooling situation, I would never call any public university there flush with cash...
Also, we will be getting $ from big east TV deal, and with private donors, my guess is we can go head to head with a lot of pac 10 schools and win a [deleted] contest...

Mitch McConnell wrote:Really, I'm not angry and negative EXCEPT when it comes to people who don't have SMU's best interests at the core of what they do. I don't June has ever really put SMU at the forefront of his mission here -- whatever that is. I know others strongly disagree with me and that's fine.
I can tell you that while Matt Doherty's stay has been a failure, I actually believed he wanted to be here for the right reasons.
Call it just a getting a vibe on people.
Thanks for proving how big of a f--king tool you are as you use Doherty in your argument against June. Next maybe you'll tell us that we should run the program more like minnesota's abortion of a football program.

Really? What is wrong with some of you? This has been discussed Ad nauseam ...
OK- for all of those that hate JJ or anxiously want to see him leave- a couple of questions. Who would you get here to replace him (hopefully from a top 20 successful program)? Obviously we don't want any retreads or coaches who just got canned because they were losers. I doubt if we could attract any of the top 20 AQ coaches that have proven, successful records to leave their current jobs and come to SMU. Secondly, are you really willing to trash this program for another 3-5 years while a new face comes in, installs his system and has to have a couple of years of 'system' recruiting. I doubt seriously if we would keep hardly any of our current commits so the new coach would be starting with an almost empty slate. I've waited too long to see this program get turned around and really don't want to wait while a new guy gets up to speed. While JJ is far from perfect I believe he can continue to build a great program here. JMHO.

GO PONIES!!!
Im not sure he is building a program here...thats my issue...
no we arent going to get Petrino, or Urban meyer, ect...
You would need an up and comer with veteran assistants...I cant use the TCU example enough...no reason we can't do same thing...

I agree with Nick. What is he exactly building here. In year 5, you should not be talking about it being a suspect season because of losses here and there.
