Find a Kicker before our Bowl Game
Coach Jones, Please find us a kicker before our bowl game with probably BYU. We are gonna need someone that can put it through the posts, when needed through out the game. IF we are gonna have any chance for a W, let's find us a KICKER.

Just how many weeks does it take someone to get over frickin' mono!? Hover's had it now for how long- 4 weeks? Another appr. 4 weeks until the bowl game. That seems long enough to me.

Edit post:
Coach Jones,
Please find us a quarterback with our bowl game against BYU. We are going to need someone to put the ball in the receiver's hands the entire game. We will need a QB to have any chance to win this game. Let's find is a QB.

But have you ever been a finely tuned athlete?

Re: Find a Kicker before our Bowl Game
Not all like a 'light cold'. The most common symptoms of mono are a high fever, a severe sore throat, swollen glands and tonsils, and weakness and fatigue. Symptoms usually start 4 to 6 weeks after you are exposed to the virus and when you have it you are very infectious to others and your whole immune system is compromised.
Mono can cause the spleen to swell and is subject to bursting with any impact.
It can take several months to completely get over Mono and its symptoms.
Hover has to be out until Spring.

Don't under estimate the athleticism of kickers and punters. Remember a lot of these guys played soccer at a high level at various points in their lives. We have had punters and kickers who run sub 4.5 forties. Now I'm not saying Loftus, Stone, or Hover are that fast, but it's possible.
And for the record, Loftus' problem is not his leg. His problem is firmly between his ears. And it's time we take a serious look at special teams in general, starting with the coach. With the exception of actually fielding punts this year, special teams took a major step backwards in my opinion.

I think the special teams was pretty good except the kicking....which you can only do what personal gives you
would love for ganz to actually try and recruit guys, but special teams was better this year

not arguing the athleticism of our kickers. but i too was in good shape in high school, too. i regularly ran with our soccer players. i'm not going to get into a [deleted] match with you about whether i was in better shape 20 years ago than a kicker than i've never even met. that would be a tremendous waste of everyone's time.
i think you're missing the point, though. I was making the point that mono is not something you just get over in a few days or even a few weeks. please don't make the mistake of accidentally defending alumni11 who seems to think that mono is nothing more than a cold. i regularly had a fever of 100+ for 10-14 days and was pretty much in bed for the better part of a month. i don't care how great you are in shape, you don't go from bedridden directly to a collegiate athletic competition.
