December visits.

Postby Dooby » Thu Dec 02, 2004 10:53 am

So, if the December signing date is 12/15 and if Bennett said they were going to have two recruiting weekends in December, then that means there will be recruits on campus this weekend. Right?

Any ideas? Thoughts? Comments?
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I hope some of the visits are from JUCO players and Division 1-A transfers. Let's see just how commited the administration is to winning. For the first time in a long time, we went out and got some JUCO help. Let's follow that up with a few more and a transfer or two. Do not let Johnny down.

There will be more JCs coming in this year. Don't know how many, but you can bet your last dollar that Chase, Mouton and the QBs aren't the last ones. I predict 4-6 will join the roster this time around.

Rivals has a couple of scheduled visits to SMU-but remember these are subject to change and often do- LB/S KJ Ellis from Arlington Lamar on December 3 and Morton Hopkins 6-3, 245 4.7 from Universal City on Dec. 10.

I understand we've offered both.
Hopkins is a DE.

Remember, this is 'the' window for SMU to put up or get out.

We have 2 nice classes maturing over the next 2 (or perhaps 3) seasons.

they are not 'complete' classes in the sense that there are 22 starters and 22 worthy backups. the jucos can fill in the blanks with some depth and starters at key positions that we were unable to recruit (BUS wants more big uglies, and I see a need for some height/speed at WR - I like Renfro, but we don't really need another fast 5'7 WR)

A decent season next year in W-L and we could be in line for a good 2006.

Is it Morton Hopkins or "Moton" Hopkins? I thought I've seen it as Moton.

Anyone know how many players are visiting this weekend? (The team banquet is tonight - that never hurts.) Or more importantly, does anyone know WHO is visiting? Stallion gave us a good start with Ellis and Hopkins, but I would assume there's more than two coming in. Anyone have some insight?
