Website saying Memphis to hire Steelers QB coach Randy Fichtner. He was the O Coordinator under Tommy West at Memphis when Memphis had Deangelo Williams and Danny Wimprine, and has worked his way up to the NFL.
Not a bad hire. Good resume, solid offensive mind, worked at Memphis before, and known to be a very good recruiter. Just about the closest thing to a 'Wow' hire as they are going to get.
Fichtner to Memphis?

He worked under Tommy West that should tell you everything you need to know.
This would be another hilarious hire by Memphis.
What an awful program.

Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier

He expressed interest in the job "months before" Beudine and Co. made the scene...why is Memphis State paying those guys?

It doesn't tell you a damn thing.
It was Fitchner's offense with multiple future-NFL players in it that gave Memphis a fighting chance during this period. It was Fitchner recruiting, coaching, and calling the plays for those guys that made them decent for a short period of time.
The fact that the guy went on to win a Super Bowl with a consistent winner should tell you everything you need to know.
