As I begin my 12 step program in AA (Athletics Anonymous), I admit that I am powerless over my addiction to SMU athletics and that my life has become unmanageable (after blowout losses to teams like Tech). Guess I'll have another drink to forget my woes. Hic!

the fact that I still come on here to talk about what is going on at my alma mater is clear and convincing evidence I have a serious problem, but I'm afraid I'm addicted. A full year like last night just might cure me, though.

My name is not StangEsq, but I go by that name on here to protect my family and other innocent people who associate with me. I uttered the words "I will not watch another game this year" today, marking the earliest point in a season that I have uttered that sentence in a football or basketball season, followed closely by the 95-21 loss to Houston in 1989, the 33-2 loss to Navy in 1995 and 37-8 loss to Navy in 2002 in football, and the 40 plus-point losses to Rice and OK St. last year. My addiction to college sports inevitably prevents me from making good on my promises.
