Post by skyscraper »

If there's a head coaching vacancy, odds are that Houston head coach Kevin Sumlin has been brought up as a candidate to fill the position. Arizona State had been one of the many schools interested in Sumlin, but according to a report from a the local Fox television affiliate in Houston, Arizona State is moving on.

The report says that Arizona State has broken off talks with Sumlin's agent, Trace Armstrong. The school never had any direct contact with Sumlin during the talks.

Guess they think he's headed to A&M, not sure what they're going to do now with Leach, Rodriguez and Sumlin out of the picture.

Neither June nor Run N Fun are too popular with ASU fans

Not surprising, June is Dennis Erickson without the NC rings. He won't excite that fanbase.

ASU fans are unrealistically optimistic, and maybe a bit small minded. Rose Bowl or bust!

I would prefer that you refer to him as "He whose name is unmentionable".

Really curious as to who ASU and UCLA will go after now. The guy at Air Force, Calhoun? He reportedly turned down Tennessee two years ago. Art Briles?

I would be shocked if a Pac 12 team took a flexbone coach.

Art Briles on the other hand..hmmm.

If UCLA was going to offer Petersen $4m/year, couldn't they afford a $4m buyout?

ASU would be a great landing spot for any coach. They'll get their man one way or another
