I'm a student at Plano West, and I've seen Eric play in every game this season, home or away. He isn't Michael Vick, but he's a big kid who's definitely not afraid to take a hit. In our first playoff game against DeSoto, he was hit hard, taken out for a play, took some painkillers, and went back in with a qb sneak on the next play. That's just the kind of player he is. He's a winner. He has a great pocket presence and knows when it's time to get out of there.

He has a great arm, and I didn't see a throw this season where I went, "Wow, he really didn't have the arm to try to make that pass". I think he's a great player with some real upside. He didn't play Varsity last year, instead, he got experience starting for the JV. He led our team to the best season in school history, just 3 points away from knocking off Denton Ryan in the playoffs.

We were underrated all season and never got much respect, but we kept fighting. I think Eric represents this spirit greatly and will be a solid addition to an SMU team that is, hopefully, at long last, turning the corner.
