Football Awards (Offensive MVP???) Banquet

Postby reversethecurseponies » Sun Dec 05, 2004 12:05 am

SMU cant get anything right including recognizing the players who have contributed the most to the team. No offense to Bobby Chase who has the potential to be a great player on the hilltop, but you give his size to a guy like Chris Foster and we have a player up for the Heisman... I've never heard of a player recieving an offensive MVP award without getting in the end zone!!! But I might just be a little crazy here just looking at stats but CFos also had more catches then chase, and spent more times running across the middle where the real men play. 444 yards of hard earned yards, come on guys lets try and get something right. This was both of these two players first year in D1 both showing a lot of potential for the upcoming year, but lets be serious.... no touch downs and chase is our offensive MVP, not a good sign!!!!!

I wouldn't lose any sleep over who the offensive MVP is, who the defensive MVP is or any other award. Chris Foster and the rest of the players know how much the coaches appreciate what they have contributed to the team. What's important now is getting more talented players on both sides of the ball, and getting everyone ready to hit the field running in the spring.

Congratulations to all Ponies who were up for awards, and here's hoping all the Ponies have such a good year next year that we can engage in some real debate about who had the biggest impact.

Really who cares about def or off mvp.The guys need to recognize that we have not arrived as a team.I personally think that this was in formality of giving a banquet to honor these young men.B.C probably got mvp for his hard work and leadership or desire and emotion to win. I would have given the whole team an award for not quitting on the coach, they had every chance in the world to do that.I suggest that the tean in it self are MOST VALUABLE PEOPLE TO SMU PROGRAM. Thanks for a better or great season than the previuos. Keep playing, training and practicing hard and SMU will become a MOST VALUABLE PLACE IN OUR HEARTS. Thanks SR. FOR THE MEMORIES OF YOUR HARD WORK! MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR LIFE AFTER SMU. THANKS GUYS. :D
