They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Well, they must have been meeting with June while he was hosting the recruits.

My thoughts exactly.

yeah, and here's what at least one of their fans thinks of it...
Are you fing kidding me? If June Jones is hired as the next ASU head coach, it will be one of the worst hires in modern college football history. Over the past week, it has become apparent (even more so than it already was - which I thought was an impossibility), that absolutely no one in this University's sports department has any idea what they are doing, especially Lisa Love. What an embarrassment. What a complete and total embarrassment.

you should see the comments on their rivals and scout sites...overwhelmingly negative on JJ. Even a petition going around to not hire JJ. Wow.

It would be difficult to meet somebody when SMU just picked up a commitment and usually those on-campus commitments go down when the recruit meets face-to-face with the head coach.

Enough of this. If he wants to go somewhere else, let him go and lets move on. Don't give him extra years just because you are think he is talking to them like Maryland unless he at least fakes embracing some of SMU.

AZ Radio Dude: ASU met w/ June for "good part of today"
Could have been his agent
Re: AZ Radio Dude: ASU met w/ June for "good part of today"
said it before, and will say it again. JJ doesn't let these things leak. if he met with them, it was with the approval of the CoC, SO & Co.
lip service only.
if he was serious, he wouldn't have even met with them, his agent would have, so that if asked, JJ could say "i've never had any contact with ASU" (look at ANY coaching hire - that's how it works).
coaches NEVER meet with the schools. UNLESS it's to give the school leverage or the ability to say they're talking to coaches (remember Paul Johnson?) or to use it to get something at their current position (which may very well be the case like an IPF or better raises for the assistants)
'cmon people. use the soft tissue between your ears.

Urban Meyer NEVER TALKED TO OSU until after his contract was signed. NEVER. June NEVER talked to SMU until his contract was signed. think logically.
