Ok great but is he ready? Nothing against Klemm but he looks like another Orgeron or Porter, ace recruiter/position coach who'll get swallowed whole trying to run a program. Not the type of hire this program can afford to make right now.

Exactly what you do short term...mason and klemm, add Rossley or another experienced oc. Let klemm bring in some young blood to recruit...

It's called leverage. While it's true that Sewell, Hunt, Shore can decide where they defecate, there are a number of major BCS jobs open right now, and JJ would be an idiot not to play his hand. Even if he has no intentions of leaving SMU, at least use it as an opportunity to get more money, higher assistants' salaries, facilities improvements, etc.

People are way too emotional about these kinds of things. It's a business, JJ didn't graduate from SMU, he's only as loyal as his next paycheck. That's not a knock on him, that's just the way the system works.

Oh, and Klemm isn't ready to be a HC, are you guys nuts? JJ will take him wherever he goes if he decides to leave. No idea where SMU would turn if JJ leaves. I like Mason but don't know if he's HC material. Would the CoC continue their financial commitment in an attempt to bring in another reputable HC? I honestly don't know.

Again fine. But let steinberg and asu's search team talk. If interest is sincere that's the only way to do it. If its about leverage, again poor timing and judgment
