It looks like a full court press by JJ for ASU, selling even his recruits to get the job. Also explains all the talk of Hawaii. Got to remind the people of the 12-0 season. It is really more difficult to sell a 23-27 record at SMU.
Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!!

Right, but I doubt ASU would sacrifice valuable recruiting time/pressure from boosters to hold off on coaching hire like SMU did with June.
Only reason he got interview is because his agent is on asu search committee.
He did this for leverage, asu won't pay him more than us and they don't even want them. He basically tried to hold us hostage during a very important weekend...
But that's ok b/c we exceeded east coast's expectations of 6-6 this year
Yea, he plays the game. Just like every big name coach out there. But you're right, let's fire JJ, hire Mason/Klemm, make ourselves the laughingstock of college football, and lose 30 games over the next three seasons. I was getting tired of these bowl games and 4-star recruits anyways.
PS- Klemm is blindly loyal to JJ. What makes you think he'd stay at SMU if we fired June, as you suggested? I'm sure you didn't bother to think that through, along with a lot of other things.
You really think Klemm would stick around at SMU if we fired JJ, which would obviously turn off a bunch of the recruits Klemm worked so hard for? Not to mention Klemm will likely be on the radar for jobs at several Pac-12 schools b/c of his recruiting prowess? Yea, I'm sure he'd stay here to be on Tom Mason's staff. Put the pipe down

Oh yea it would be that easy. aTm is looking at Briles at around that price with the new SEC money. Baylor also has more money than we do(and could match or exceed any offer) and a new stadium with more fan support.

He would stay for HC at SMU.

Well we were irrelevant for 20+ years before, we don't have much of a choice. You sound like a shortsighted hothead with no sense of the realities of college football

Yea, that makes sense. Fire a guy who took us to three bowls in four years after we'd been shut out for 20+ years, and hire a guy w/ 3 years of coaching experience (none as a coordinator).
This crap has certainly made me spoil on JJ. The only reason I don't want him to leave though is Klemm. If you could guarantee he sticks around even if JJ departed, I really wouldn't care. That guy is the backbone of everything that is going well right now and it would be devastating if we lost him at this point. Idk if he's ready for a HC position, but I could see him having a lot of success at some point. Recruits are nuts about him. Seems like a great dude.
