So not sure how in line we are or aren't....
I think he knows were in for a rough year with the schedule and dip in talent. Maybe he is trying to get another job while his stock is good. Because next year he will be very fortunate to win 5 or 6 games IMO.
He's done a nice job of training people to recite his talking points without really training them.

I do not believe SMU is paying players now. Do you have some evidence you'd like to share to the contrary?
Not SMU, because if we got caught again, the faculty will have classrooms in the Ford. Im talking about obvious places: Auburn, USC, Florida schools, etc. (big programs, which they can fall on the mentality Too Big To Fail)

Some of us were saying that well before he stated it publicly. You can see it from a mile away.

another reason it would be a tough sell at a BCS school.
At the beginning of this season "the kids are really gelling and feeling the offense now. Everywhere we've been, that's how it goes..they should be more in the flow and feed off of knowing what each of them are going to do"
that's a paraphrase of June & Morrison early this year. At a BCS school, one would say well...what happened? 27-3, 37-7 etc? And the staff would answer as to why attendance was lagging in light of the unimpressive on the field showings.
Instead, we get...

86 -- Whose fault is it then when year 5 has the potential to be total flop?
You shouldn't be going in that direction in year 5.

Oh my....which one of us would do such a thing? Or maybe he is trying to get raises for the Klemm & Mason you guys rave so much about! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh that is just TERRIBLE! Maybe he's trying to hold on to those guys...but all you guys can do is sit back & moan. It happens all the time in college football that have winners. You guys have had the loser mentality for so long this is all new to you. Maybe you'd prefer to return to the "nobody would hire our coach" days? This is a bunch of overblown crybaby stuff over nothing.

Certain people with access to the program have said this wasn't a power/leverage play.

It's not a leverage ploy. Jones wants out. Whether it's ASU, UCLA, or somewhere else. He wants out. I say let him walk. We will be OK.
Back off Warchild seriously.

The biggest lost will be the recruits that we thought we had...we need him till there is a suitable replacement so players wont bolt.

Of course, if the coaching staff ever really set up shop in Texas, the retention of those players would have improved. This is the danger of making Los Angeles a hub because if there is a coaching change, the program is left without a chair when the music stops.

Did anyone notice that Jones has taken us now to our third consecutive bowl game after 25 years of futility prior to that? Only once ever before that, and that success was bought and paid for and ended with me attending a soccer homecoming game my senior year. Jones gets credit whether you like him or not.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

He wants out, so let him out...
Keep klemm, keep recruiting class, bring in chad morris or malzahn or whomever, but Klemm needs to be retained...
