Also, how much do you think they are worth outside of klemm, and maybe mason?
I've heard by credible sources that June feels they are. If June feels that way (right or wrong), then I think his actions are justified. He's either sincerely interested in the job or he's attempting to fix a problem before his pocket is picked by big(ger) spending programs. Either way, he had to move ASAP (which, yes, meant this weekend). These coaching jobs are going to start filling fast and furious this week. I expect Old Miss, Kansas, A&M, and perhaps ASU & UCLA to be filled within 7-10 days.
I don't think it is leverage.

Great! You should be thrilled. Think of it less, JJ gets everything to, JJ is helping his successor with marketing tools and reforms.

For those that have opinions, just where the athletic friendly majors? Remember the School of Education and the false promises there? How difficult and expensive is it to have a general studies program that crosses all departments and uses existing courses? Four years of Turner's unfulfilled promises poisoned the water here boys!
June was very clear last spring that these things need to completed as promised by the end of the season or he would begin looking by the first of December. What was Saturday's date? June is true to his promises.

In your opinion, that doesnt mean anything.

I will agree with whomever said, "I usually enjoy your postings..." You can be entertaining as well as "want to hit you with a hammer"
and to previous comment, BS- Turner has been a great president here at smu. You realize he has to deal with liberal nut jub professors who hate the idea of a football program here, or a Bush library or anything good for SMU... I wouldnt want to be in his shoes, but Im sure glad he can negotiate. Eventually they will have a degree for them, but they also need to do some studying and work. They cant just be players, because if no NFL, no future.

Guys, chill out on Nick. He's grumpy because the cable is out in his parents' basement and all he has is internet this morning.

Your right...How did you know?
Re: If June Leaves We Will Be OK
June and most of his staff needs to go now no matter how good he has been and whether you like him or not. How can he recruit effectively when he is constantly interviewing with other universities.? Would your spouse be ok with you telling them "you are ok for now but I am gonna keep looking for something better." What about the players he has recruited and the "life lessons" he suposedly teaches. What a hypocrite! I think that is one of the reasons Leech was so disliked at Tech. Now is a good time to let him go with our blessing and thankful we can get a better (although maybe not one who is living on an outdated reputation) coach to take us to the next level. The problem will be if the financial committment isn't there to give the new guy the support he needs to hire good coaches and the time to recruit to make up for the terrible recruiting he has done in the last four years and the Texas high school coaches who have such litle respect for this staff. Why else would a great school like SMU and after bowling still have to bring in guys from Cal and Louisianna when the greatest players in the country are within 50 miles of campus?

Two things will keep him here:
1. We pay more than all traditional non-BCS school
2. He won't get offered by a BCS school (unless they have truly bottomed out like a Washington St type school-or an Indiana or Duke) and they wouldn't likely pay more
