Both went to SMU and now want to screw us????
Internal support for Jones may come from Gregg Tryhus, a top official in the Sun Devil Club, and booster Verde Dickey, whose financial generosity led ASU to name an entire ASU athletic complex in his honor. Both attended SMU.

It's official...we have the worst alumni in the country. Too cool for school while you're an undergrad is one thing, but this is absolutely shameful.
Maybe we should have shut the program down post-DP. If we can't even get past our own alumni trying to screw the program, what hope do we have with the public?

When talking to reporters following Erickson's dismissal, Love said ASU needed someone to connect with alumni and fans, someone to get out in the community and mingle. This was a shortcoming of both Koetter and Dennis Erickson, but by many accounts, Jones is comfortable among the masses. He knows how to connect.
Other positives: His pass-first offensive style is exciting and he's a proved to be a strong recruiter.

its not like ASU is even that great a school ...bunch of potheads out there. I dont get the motivation. If they are from the Phoenix area why not just cheer for both like any other alum - this bugs me to no end
