Strong hunch - JJ be gone

Post by ponyinNC »

I have a sneaking suspicion that JJ is out and they are just negotiating the buyout. I have absolutely ZERO sources at SMU, but I think the writing is on the wall.

Fedora going to UNC, Sumlin to Illinois or TAMU, Briles doesn't want to leave the state ofTexas...call it a hunch, but I think JJ is ASU's next coach. Both ASU message boards absolutely hate the choice, but their athletic dept is so inept and their choices so limited that JJ is the pick.

Bring on the search committee...and please let's not use Beaudine!

Well see. From a PR standpoint, ASU couldnt have f'ed this up any worse. Their fanbase might mutiny if they hire JJ

i hope i am wrong, because this recruiting class is great and 2013 looks even better. But some weird events have transpired today, especially on the pay sites.

We should inform Beaudine that we will no longer use him in the future under any circumstances. In addition, we should inform Leigh Steinberg that we are not interested in any person that he represents- especially since he was on the ASU search committee. You just don't feed the hand that bites you!!!!!!!!

I hope we hold solid to the buyout as we would need the help in getting the next coach. But I would say you are not far from the possible truth. But who knows.

I guess I'm just not that concerned about him leaving. He will be going somewhere than absolutely hates him the moment he gets there. They'll love him even more when he is throwing 40 yard bombs down the sideline on 3rd and 1.
Back off Warchild seriously.

this is from asu rivals writer. Said free to share:

Yes. DEFCON 1. They hit temporary pause button but realization they likely won't end up with Fedora/Sumlin/Briles and Jones' interview really impressing them has led to this position.

Jones has a large buyout which may be part of sticking point.

There is an ASU element at the top that clearly is still very interested in this regardless of public opinion even among top boosters.
