AGAIN. We don't have to hire a guy w/ AD experience. Hire a young guy who loves SMU and can sell. What does it matter if he is currently in the business world. I know we can put together a good list of ex-SMU players who are successful and can sell and would love the job.

I agree. The Rice ad is an alumni, and he has an even tougher tougher sale with their standards.

"the committment" is marketing b.s. - and was transparently so when unveiled - everyone does it - it was just fund raising. - no big deal.

Also - hiring an enthusiastic SMU guy or gal with no AD experience is the stupidist thing I have ever heard. SMU AD is one of the toughest sports jobs in America - because the deck is stacked against us - and will be even AFTER we get all the admin. stuff equalized, which is close but still not done.

The Bennett extension is basically meaningless at this point - I was hoping the announcement would be an athletic friendly major and a new policy on accepting more transfer hours for JUCO's and some partial qualifiers
