Now they have to become best friends with another coaching staff. It's hard to make new friends as you get older.

F him on the timing and on what appears to be his desire to jump ship. And F all the quasi religious mumbo jumbo which seems to have been crap.

But thanks to him and his staff for helping to turn this thing around and being the face that helped get the academic changes and economic commitment needed to win. And thanks for three straight bowls. Lower tier bowls are better than no bowls.

awe, everyone has pee in their teacup this morning. life goes on. no one is tearing down Ford, no one is taking the Blvd away, we're going to the big east. let June go collect his retirement money, win his 6 or 7 games in the Pac like ASU always does, and retire to the islands in peace.

moving along.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

He wanted to go, and the people who pay him wanted him to go, so it's good that he's gone.

But in the interest of fairness, here's a list of things that would not havve happened without Jones (at least not when they did, if ever):

1. Admission standards relaxed
2. Three consecutive bowls (for the first time in SMU history with amatuer players)
3. Three straight winning seasons (okay, one was a draw, how about non-losing seasons)
4. Indoor practice facility (haven't you heard it's a "done deal")
5. Considerably improved recruiting (goes with No. 1)
6. Nightclub in home locker room (wow)
7. New lights in stadium (maybe no longer needed)
8. In discussions for admission to BCS conference (although we should embrace C-USA)

Feel free to add. All of you who wish him ill are shortsighted.

Why are you laughing? If he takes Klemm your school could be set back pretty far. This is not a jovial moment.

I think JJ did what needed to be done.

I don't like the way he's showing a lack of respect in leaving.

Well said Dutch. We caught lightning when Klemm got bored in AZ and came here and took over McKnight's job. I'm excited for the next guy.

Peruna's intuition about JJ was right on and he let all of us know what he thought about JJ when he left his mark at the westside 48 yard line early in the 2010 season.

Don't know if I'm a lover - maybe if he buys me dinner first - but you can call me a supporter, and I will be the first to tell you he was a Hired Gun - it's why I don't care about him talking to other schools now.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

He's done his job here and our program is better for it. If he decides to go, God Bless and thanks for pulling us off the floor of College Football.
