I'll still be a Pony Fan

Post by maize'n'blue »

So since your lying Jackwagon head coach SEEMS to think he can head west and win, you should fire him either way..... I kind of beg to differ (not about firing him) but I digress, I am enamored with the SMU spirit, the mascot that kills, assaults and violates other mascots and tells TCU just what it thinks about it in the middle of it's field. The ONLY STAR RUNNING BACK that my Lions ever drafted that could win a title. The fact that when you guys were handed chicken (gary Patterson) you made chicken salad. And the fact that your academic standards are very high. You guys are the first and only Texas team this Michigan Man has ever liked, ever.

On the eve of the NCAA Tournament Bill Frieder informed Bo Schembechler that he had taken the Arizona State Job. And Bo Fired him (Michigan wn the 1989 National title). A Michigan Man will Coach Michigan he said, not an Arizona State man. Despite Frieder's UM degree, he was no longer loyal. Fire his fat old lei wearin' sorry @ss and put an SMU man in charge. Who is he hell I don't know but breaches in loyalty to the program do not sit well with me. I wasn't one of the guys screaming for Lloyd Carr to retire either, I just wanted him to beat Jim Tressel. Lloyd was out of it and just quit I wish he wouldn't have but then again he didn't want it anymore but he could have pushed it a year or 2 later. HE should have been the guy calling Hoke. It's a different matter but it feels similar to me.

If you guys lose a little I'll still be here you haven't done really a whole hell of a lot of what I call winning anyways but you deserve better than this garbage. You've put up with too much already.

Well Guys I'm kind of a Detroit Lions fan too, you know the Doak Walker reference. The only star running back that could ever win a title with us..... I hope we draft Zach. I know JUST how you feel, I really do. and I'm pissed at June Jones right now.

Maize - I grew up in Michigan, cheered for UM, am a Lions fan, and went to SMU and stayed down here in Texas...thanks for the support....Go blue and Go SMU...I just hope someday to have to make the most gut wrenching decision and see SMU and Michigan play each other in a meaningful game.... :)

And I wish we could clone Brady Hoke and have him come down here and coach the Ponies...

Well, you'll cheer for the Mustangs because in your heart of hearts you know who it means more too. Me I'll cheer for the Monster of the Midwest and as far as I know UM hasn't played SMU since 63. But afterwords I'll still go for SMU whenever they play. But SMU needs a Brady Hoke real, real bad.
Who is thw best guy out there coaching that ever played or coached at SMU??? get THAT GUY.

THAT's the question we should be asking ourselves. I'm loving the Cali pipeline, though ...

I say we hire THAT guy (thoughts??), keep on Klemm, Mason, and Gantz (and the strength coach seems to be well liked/pretty good whatever his name is). The problem is there's no one in RECENT memory that could make a big splash. We tried back in the DP days with Forrest Gregg ... I don't think ED would want to coach, that's the only guy I could think of ;-)

Here's an interesting article I found about some possible underlying issues ... could they still be festering?
