Again, my naive hope is that this whole experience gives June a new appreciation for his current situation. I'm not telling you (or anyone else) how to feel, but in my mind there is no way to turn my back on June without turning my back on those playes.
They are currently on the hook for about $7.5 mil (June's last three years). A buyout would be $3 mil. That would be a savings of $4.5 mil.
We'd probably finance the next coach the same way, so essentially just remove $3 mil from the pot and we're good to go.
No clue where you are getting the $10-15m figure
If you're on Rivals, please see Armen's post "Jones to ASU will NOT happen (Latest: 3:40PM)"
I don't buy that figure. It's widely known that the buyout is in the $3 mil neighborhood

I don't challenge you on any of those assertions. However, as fans we each have three options:
1) Donate an obscene amount of money to help SMU buy its way out of this. 2) Be a drama queen and [deleted] down your leg. 3) Be someone who remains calm and figures out how to turn lemons into lemonade.
I vote for #3, but I'm sure some stopped reading after #2!
Yeah I agree with number 3, the other choices would just work against us. Since we know its just him using us a stepping stone and collecting, we need to find a quality coach asap, only not blurt it out unprofessionally like some people

Bingo, got everything he claimed was standing in his way, maybe he saw he wasn't the great QB mentor he thought he was and realized he only had maybe one more chance to trick a school into thinking he was. Attendance was the only thing lacking, but Dallas is a much tougher/more competitive market, and we are a smaller school. What he was selling was not enticing anybody. Takes a good deal of winning for fans to turn the corner and pick up a new team. Never cited a lack of marketing team as a reason for leaving, probably because he new he would get it and run out of another reason.
Can we get t-shirts of Peruna dumping on or beating up June will all profits going to the June Jone buyout fund?
