Offensive line movement? It appears OL Coach Stanley has playeres learning several positions. i.e. Chandler, Riendle, Kieshnick. this should be a positive for the team as we get into the season and the bumps and bruises take hold. What do you think?
SMU...2nd to None
Re: Offensive line movement?Kieshnick will be good. I think he is having a good spring.
Go Red, Go Blue, Go Mustangs, S M U
Re: Offensive line movement? With a thin offensive line, versatility like that will be invaluable. Good move by the coaching staff.
Re: Offensive line movement? How thin are they? What is the avg. weight of the line?

Re: Offensive line movement?I think MustangFan was refering to the lack of depth at the offensive line position and not their weight.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Offensive line movement? Thanks PK, I didn't look at it like that. But do you or anyone else know how big they are. Everyone has been saying that a lot of the players have lost weight. I'm all about the OL being able to move, but at the same time I don't want to see them being slung up in the snack bar.
Re: Offensive line movement?I would guess that the average OLinemen is about 6-3 280. Far from the days of Adami, Holder, Chivo, Bandy and company. 280 might even be a little heavy.
Re: Offensive line movement?Let's see. Harris is about 6-6, 295; Keischnick is 6-3, 275; Reindl is listed at 6-3, 274; Chandler is listed at 6-3, 277 and Judson Davis is listed as 6-5, 291.
If I can do the math (and there's no guarantee of accuracy here), that makes the average starter 6-4, 282.4. Of course, the sizes I've listed are based on last year's season-ending roster (except Harris). So there might be some fluctuation there. "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
... "Hit it."
