NEED MORE YOUNG FANS

We Need more young and loud fans in the stands,also there is no excuse for such a small student following,there should be 6000 students at every home game..Also i am very happy Coach Jones is staying i will never forget the last 25 years,if you stop and think about it for a minute im sure you will change your minds......Welcome back coach,now go beat the hell out of Pitt and all this mess will be forgotten...Thanks for staying

where are these "fans" supposed to come from?? Need to do two things:

1.) marketing blitz to be Dallas' team, to energize young alums, to really market to north dallas population. Big East $ should help with this
2.) Get some big wins over top teams or make a UH-like run to a BCS game (this is on JJ (or whoever our new coach might be)

JJ also needs to reach out more to the students and show them he wants to be in Dallas and not Hawai'i (e.g., lose the lei or at least keep it in the locker room on game days). He also needs to embrace (or at least in public) SMU's traditions by wearing school colors ( especially at games) and by putting the geldings out to pasture. He 'was led to be here.'. He needs to make the best of the situation.

Not only do you need to market "North Dallas," you need to market "East", "South", and "West" Dallas. Those are the areas that the athletes out of Dallas come from.

We need to market to people everywhere and tell them not to be shy about showing up on campus for a game, and that we want their support. Lose the rich-boy image and appeal to the masses, win 9-10 games a season, and market the hell out of SMU and we'll get to where we want to be.

Advertising the Boulevard is NOT the answer - we need the GAME to be the main event. Too many people are more interested in the Boulevard than the game...

Does anyone know the number of SMU alumni in the North Texas area regardless of age? I recall it is quite large. These should be a primary initial target. There needs to be more than simply cold calls to these people to collect money during the Morgan Campaign if we are going to draw them to games.

At this point I even want him to lose the Polynesian looking helmet stickers. Isnt it the symbol of his charity or something? Regardless, no more Hawaii stuff
