Actually one of my concerns today was the distraction this presents to our players as they are in the middle of exams.

And students ! I have been distracted all day!

This mess could easily be turned into another ESPN documentary. I remember some crazy stuff in the SEC, but this business trumps almost all of it.

Arkansas once had a basketball coach go through the acceptance press conference and even gave a "Pig Sooie" at it. Hadn't signed the papers yet though. Next day, he got back to Omaha and decided he would rather stay at Creighton for a few more years than go to Arkansas. He is the head coach at Oregon now.

Hopefully everyone's showing of pride in SMU will carry over to supporting our players at the bowl game (they definitely took the hardest hit today) and into next season. Maybe the 300+ guest poking around here will buy a ticket to see what all the noise is about next year. Every ticket helps.

remember the old saw. there is no such thing as bad publicity. this could even HELP recruiting. might lose some, gain interest from others.

Just remember we could be Penn State. I mean the BIG story on the news was Sandusky being arrested for molesting more young boys. And it wasn't just on ESPN, it was on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, ABC, etc. Or we could be Syracuse, their coach won't get prosecuted because the statute of limitations has expired. This is embarrassing and dramatic for us, but Penn State has had all but one of their recruits bail. Syracuse is moving to the ACC and its hoops program (the only thing the ACC wants) may tank because of this. So, this is a bump in the road, nothing to see here. Keep moving folks.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
