ASU also had to pay 6 million to Dennis Erickson for firing him so it nay not have been a smokescreen. Also, Orsini was asked to lower the buyout and but would not budge. The buyout issue prolonged the negotiations with gave boosters opposed to the buyout time to react. Had Orsini waived the buyout at the beginning of negotiations June would have been at ASU Sunday night IMO.
