Great job on reporting, interesting point about how this was supposed to be Orsini's big day, once in a lifetime to help bring a program from the bottom of barrel back to being competitive and into a BCS conference.

Any sense of Orsini's personal feelings about SMU?

Thoughts from Orsini at NYC Mustang Club Reception

Thanks for the report. No forgive/forget from me, but I'll go along with whatever the HoneyBadger asks of us.

Lighter note: ECM is awesome again tonight. Congrats on your posthumous 2005 ROY award.

Unlike CMF, i have under grad and grad ties, ha! Probably why I like to bash the other degrees around campus. I tend to have these debates in classrooms, its quite amusing. Oh and great post on the story. I have been involved way too much into this situation. I feel so bad for Orsini, for a guy who has SMU in his heart, he sure was mistreated by a guy who is out only for money. I wish we had a coach like S.O. Even if S.O. right now says, Im going to another school to rebuild. I would say please reconsider and stay here, but JJ I will throw a going away party. Im hoping that I will get off the rage train on him, but its hard when I was such an avid fan of his.

The sad thing is (and I guess positive) nobody on campus really paid attention. So its sad our campus isnt emotionally attach, only hardcore fans, but then again people dont even realize how bad the situation got. Also sending out an email saying we got to the Big East is lame, they need to throw out some banners around campus so people realize that our football program is going to new places.

Finally: Embrace Big East, not Crap-USA.

thanks man. I'm trying to keep this buzz going but I wish the forum was more active. it's 12:15am, wake up people.

Also, again, Austin was excellent with these reports. Can he take Laken's job?

Austin is a former editor for the Daily Campus, former roommate and great guy. He'd do it for NASCAR in a heartbeat.

Orsini is the first AD to be responsible for two non-BCS schools jumping to the BCS in one day. He really did get shafted today but the Messiah

The whole grass is greener/testing waters thing is bulsh, and we all know it.
But the rest of that is pretty interesting.
Glad he seemed candid.

We should drop the future NTSU games, and schedule ASU.

I completely forgot about Orsini really being responsible for two schools becoming BCS. Nice job by SO and hope that some posters start giving him credit for the great job he has been doing taking full cognizance of the circumstances and conditions that he inherited and where things now stand. Yes, a way to go, but at least hope on the horizon.

I spend my time writing/reporting on the mortgage market—a group that depending on who you ask, is made up of the scum of the earth these days (though I don't share that sweeping generalization of the industry)

Glad to use my powers for good, as it were :)
