What happens w/Recruiting now?

Postby smubrooks » Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:04 pm

So now that June is not going to ASU what happens with regard to recruiting? Do the decommitted players recommitt? Does the class continue to fall apart b/c no one believes June will stay past one year?

We had a decommit, singular. not plural. and it was un related to JJ/ASU. Recruiting should pick up business as usual, AK will hold it down.

Im sure we'll run some kind of damage control, but June(and more importantly Klemm) are still here, so I think we're OK

Unrelated- Really? IIRC Chris Harper said he was changing his commit to ASU as soon as word leaked out that JJ was going to go there.

No offense to sound depressing, but regardless AK most likely can only bring in 3 star to 2 star guys... any chance of those 4 stars went right out the window with JJ's business decision. We might as well expect the 3rd quartile of recruiting rather than 2nd in all of CFB.

If we can hang on to what we've got - some of our recruits are underrated. Check out what Lewis is doing right now - awarded LA City Player of the Year. I'd call him a four star.

We just recently dropped out of the top 50 for this years class. There are 120 full FBS members. 2nd quartile is top 60. Even with this set back we can expect to finish with a top 60 class, and we may have been set back but recruits are young and have short memories. We are not doomed to no 4* recruits. If Printz stays committed, talent will follow him to SMU. Great players want to go with talent. Weis gave Pintz the hard sell at Florida, and he is now the HC at Kansas. If June doesn't ruin our chance at keeping Printz, this episode of June stupidity will be a blip in improving recruiting. Still say June should get the boot as soon as a impressive coach opens up.

No one forces you to come to the recruiting board. If you are not interested in it until signing day then just don't click on the recruiting board until then.

We gave up a 3-star to make room for a 4-star. Keep your shirt on.

Yeah, obviously keeping JJ is better than a really inexperience interim coach. Hopefully somebody impressive will step up for less money. Im hoping Printz continues, he seems to be potentially a huge asset for this program.
