Very interseting post from ASU Rivals beat writer:

Numerous people around ASU community have told me prominent booster Verde Dickey was prepared to donate a substantial sum of money, millions in fact, in the event June Jones could be hired by the school. The amount I have heard has varied significantly from picking up the tab on the buyout to as much as $50 million over a longer period. I can't say if they had a locked in amount or what that amount would have been, but multi-million. That was one of the reasons this was going to happen (along with Bob Beaudine)...until it didn't. Both are SMU grads.
