SMU head coach June Jones and Pittsburgh head coach Todd Graham met the media Thursday in Birmingham, Ala., at the first press conference for the 2012 BBVA Compass Bowl, which will be played Jan. 7 at Legion Field.

I'm like everyone else -- I'm pretty bent over the way the ASU thing went down (or didn't), but it's part of the business that coaches talk to other schools.

I think redpony kept it pretty discreet, the fact you just mentioned his son would tell any guest what his son said about our football program.

I was giving him (JJ) the same respect that he afforded to our university. Obviously that impression was not an original thought but something created by JJ from comments he had made.
