Portland, Oregon Bball'er Considering SMU

Brian Morris, a 6-9 senior on Jefferson’s basketball team, is looking at a wide range of colleges he might attend, according to coach Marshall Haskins.

Georgetown, Tennessee, Southern Methodist, Xavier and Fresno State are all in the running for Morris, who is among the state’s top recruits.

“We’ve been working on all facets of his game, and he’s progressing really well,” Haskins says.

This guy visited weeks ago! We tried to get him to sign a LOI the last night before the end of the fall signing period but he decided not to do it. He may still be on our list but I am figuring that we are now looking elsewhere.
He weighs 240-260.

I believe this is the guy the coaches are really after with our last scholarship. There hasn’t been an update by either recruiting service in over a month on Morris. From what I've read, he’s an impressive interior player and a helluva rebounder (6’9” 260lbs and very long) He’s on one of the top teams in the Portland area and averaged 18 pts, 12 boards and was named Portland POY as a junior.

According to Insiders he is down to three with offers and high interest in each: Xavier (11/5 visit), Fresno St. (11/12 visit) and SMU (11/14 visit). Oregon St. offered but he has no interest.

Not sure if there's anything to it but the Oregonian has another Portland player listing SMU as one of his favorites- Jordan Mast of Portland Jesuit (6’2” 165lbs). He lists SMU, Air Force, Boise St. and few other smaller NW schools. Jesuit is also a top team in Portland but I couldn't find much on Mast as they have another guy (Oregon St commit) who receives most of the pub.
