Or am I confusing the requirement of sophomores to live on campus, which will double the housing needs?

Either or, long term, I would hope it would help attendance. I do not advocate sitting on our hands until then, just curious.

I'd rather triple it to quadruple the enrollment.

I would like to see it too, but I can tell you it is EXTREMELY difficult to keep our student quality up while increasing class size - and if it is one thing they are determined to do it is get SMU up with the Vanderbilts and Northwesterns of the world.

have to add new colleges/degrees to do that.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Our undergraduate size is inline with top 25 undergraduate programs, just need to further increase student support, research opportunities, and professor to student ratio. Re-examining majors offered and their requirements may also be useful. We are severely lacking in the quantitative liberal arts, which is were things seem to be going as well as professional development opportunities for students in the liberal arts. If we increase anything it should be the graduate school size and offerings, research, and number of professors. Also more 4+1 opportunities could be advantageous for attracting more high caliber students. Seems to have payed off well for Lyle.

Cant imagine how much it would cost to double our undergraduate size while keeping the same quality and moving toward the top 25. My guess is an additional 4 billion+. Half for improvements and the other half or more for endowment. UP land is not cheap and height restriction is a pain. You need more buildings and expansion of existing, more dorms, even more faculty housing to replace the homes you will tear down to expand SMU, more endowed chairs, not to mention scholarships and financial aid.

For those confused, doubling on-campus housing so that they can require 2nd year students to live on campus and move to a residential commons system. See Rice as an example.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier

We really need to expand our fan base into Pleasant Grove and Seagoville.

What would that be? You can't depreciate land for tax purposes, yes, but to what are you referring?
