CP- don't agree. Realistic -definitely, optomistic- doubtful. Negative- yes a few, but not in the majority. I seriously doubt that we are significantly different than any other active alumni site.

It is just the coaching uncertainty that probably influenced him to do that as his Dad has posted that he feels "SMU has bigger things to attend to now." But JJ said that this ASU situation had no effect on recruiting, right?

I don't care how you look at things this is a major blow to SMU since QB has been a question.

A 2013 recruit of this caliber is at risk regardless of the situation.
Remember a verbal commitment is a one way street - the school is locked in when they write the scholarship offer but the kid can "commit" and still go elsewhere.
So maybe his parents judged that SMU was a good place for their son but if something better came along, well ..........
I'm always very suspect of a recruit this ar out unless he has some tie to the school.

Where was JJ and coach Morrison? Mr Printz came on the Rivals board today and said that he tried over 200 times since LAST THURSDAY to call SMU coaches and no one has returned his call. And this is one of the top recruits in the country.

And I will say it again...200 attempts in a matter of days? Regarding a commitment you've made that you don't have to solidify with a signature for another year and a half? That smacks of some serious insecurity or high maintenance to me.

As much as everyone is excited about the prospects of signing a kid of this caliber, I'd be serioulsy concerned about this coaching staff if they stopped recruiting the QB position...better have an acceptable backup plan because Feb 2013 is a long ways off

June's recruitment of the QB position has been pretty pathetic thus far, this Printz thing always seemed too good to be true. Hopefully we can keep the QB commit we have for this class and avoid having any of our current QBs transfer because depth and quality is a serious issue at the position.

Dude, I am sure Mr Printz heard about the news of June's offer being pulled Wednesday and was just trying to speak with him about the situation. WE had several recruits visit this weekend and I am sure contact was made. Mr Printz had every right to talk to a coach because he tried several coaches. Spin it how you may but this is unacceptable by our staff and someone needs to be held accountable. QB is a key feature in this offense and we don't need to lose one of this caliber of on some mess like this.

After putting up with all of this Junesus BS, we are now calling our prized recruit high maintenance, unbelievable. Would chose Eddie over June any day of the week. If any one is high maintenance its Junesus.

I understand that the recruit and his parents will want to know what's going on and deserve to hear from the coaches...but IMMEDIATELY? How about a little respect for other people's time? I would assume the coach(es) will respond, but it concerns me if ANYONE thinks they need to leave 200 messages. That's a bit of a red flag to me.

Have to remember that I'm as old as JJ and the young techie generation makes me crazy at times. I certainly don't like having to defend fools that insist on texting while driving...all because they have to know NOW!!!
