DMN Reporting James to Run for Senate

DMN is reporting that Craig James will file today to run in the Republican field for the US Senate election coming up next November. Interesting. I didn't know he was into politics.

He spoke on campus last year. My friend and I attended and I am very glad I didn't miss it. The SMU Libertarians brought him in and around 25 people showed up. Craig James is a super nice guy, but political office is different than being a great college football player. I wish him the best of luck...

A guy with no other political feathers in his cap coming out and running for a Texas Senate seat? Seems like he's putting the cart before the horse here.

I guess the window of opportunity for a Cherry spot like that is pretty short, but then, that's why there are a dozen other GOP alternatives who have been grooming for this.

I'll be interested in following the campaign, but it certainly seems like a long shot.

Maybe Chris Peterson is coming down to coach UT. He went on record today saying he would vote for Craig if he lived in Texas.
