VIDEO: Chase Hover

SMU kicker Chase Hover visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the recent illness that cost him a couple of games, the challenges he will face getting back into kicking shape and the process he goes through every time he kicks in a new stadium for the first time, as he will Jan. 7 in the Compass Bowl at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.

Good to see him back . I still have doubts with loftus. Namdar is descent, chase has the most experience. Who is kicking in the bowl game?

There aren't many reporters who can make it sound like they know anything about kicking. Good interview.
Hover sounds pretty grounded. Hope he gets to live out that scenario about a bowl-winning field goal!

I agree, we should interview the other kickers as well. It be nice to get some face time from them as well. Though, I wouldnt say nightmare. Loftus did miss an extra point, the extra point was unlucky, and a fg i think when he missed he was just focusing on getting the ball up and hit it perfect strait, he prolly was doing a lot of extra points during warm ups... Namdar made all 3 extra points, and missed 1 fg, but the snap was high and the blocking was bad, so in that aspect it was a mishap of the snapper and the line. I think Namdar did fine, and Loftus needs to focus.

First and foremost, I'm glad Hover is healthy again.

Something about the way he comes across in this interview -- kind of a cool customer. I'll feel good when he lines up for -- and HITS -- the game-winner in Birmingham next month.
