Wouldn't Mack have some interest in almost pushing this guys to check out SMU. With TCU's recent success and now being a part of the Big12, Mack must be far more worried about TCU than SMU. If he gave a little nudge to SMU, it would certainly help SMU compete against TCU and thereby help UT in the long run.
Also, Reinebold's tweet from today must have been about one of these guys, my guess would be White, it makes more sense that a WR would be interested in coming to SMU (and calling our WR coach) than a DT:
"Times have changed...got a call from a guy who was one of the countries most recruited players who is interested in transfering to SMU..."
Remember - we have not usually been a destination for transfers because SMU does not accept transfers hours like a lot of the other schools. Players do not want have to retake classes and lose credit hours to come to SMU when our competition will take all of their transfers hours. If SMU's policy on tranfer hours has changed then I expect we will get a lot of Big 12 transfers going forward.

Still remember the QB that wanted to come but SMU would not accept classes he took at Northwestern
Some of SMU's requirements are odd. northwestern is a well respected school and those hours dot transfer. As tough as it is to get into Texas these days unless you are an athlete, I highly imagine the classes their athletes take wouldn't transfer. That's not to say all athletes but I imagine Texas has quite a few deviations to under water basket weaving for their athletes.

Wow, that's a downright Aggy sense of inflated self worth.

Correction: smart players don't want to retake. like NW qbs.
Dumber ones don't care, but it affects their eligibility by the number of transferable hours...
